Best Wedding Venues in Savannah

Weddings

Savannah stole my heart. Every magical live oak, brick lined street and swing of Sea Oats just sucked me in. After living all over the country (every region of the US including Alaska —) my husband and I have been enchanted by this pretty little city. SO I don’t blame you for wanting Savannah to be the backdrop of your love story — but there are so many fabulous venue options, how could you possibly pick one?! Well I can’t help you there BUT I can share some classic Savannah venues and some design ideas to go with each one. I’m not a flowers only florist, I’m a flowers first, color-aesthetics-match the vibe-kind of designer.

Lowcountry Vibes

The Wyld Dock

The Wyld Dock is a rustic wedding venue on a beautiful creek just south of Savannah State University. The laid-back, romantic vibes make for a lovely intimate lowcountry ceremony and reception. The restaurant’s dock is so beautiful and the perfect place to take your wedding portraits or even hold your ceremony! But the best reason to host your wedding here? The delicious food! The Wyld Dock rents by full buyout only, meaning you will need to cover a food and beverage minimum (varies by season) or make up the difference with a site rental fee.

Recommend florals: I’d choose something natural and organic to complement The Wyld Dock’s rustic charm. Think lots of lush greenery, and a warm, earthy color palette!

Savannah Yacht Club

The Savannah Yacht Club offers a more traditional, classic look and feel. The lawn features a stunning Live Oak tree which beautifully frames your ceremony overlooking the marina on the Wilmington River. If you love the nautical aesthetic, this venue may be perfect for you! You’ll have a gorgeous, unobscured view of the dock and boats. The Savannah Yacht club is a great venue for large weddings, with its plentiful space (both indoor and out) and parking on-site.

Recommend florals: Classic elegance is the name of the game at The Savannah Yacht Club, so I recommend florals to match! Think classic garden roses, dahlias, and peonies. The natural beauty of the Live Oak and water backdrop means you don’t need much ceremony decor to make a statement. Instead, I’d focus on a jaw-dropping reception statement piece and lush centerpieces!

Urban Rooftops

The Drayton Hotel

Less than a mile from landmarks like Savannah City Hall and Forsyth Park, The Drayton Hotel perfectly balances classic charm with a modern, stylish aesthetic. Their rooftop space, Pendant Terrace and Bar offers panoramic views of the historic district, including the iconic gold dome of City Hall. The indoor and outdoor space can accommodate up to 120 guests, perfect for a small to medium sized wedding (or rehearsal dinner)! The french-style bistro chairs, striped umbrellas, and wooden tables all add to this beautiful venue’s charm.

Recommend florals: A lush floral arch would anchor your rooftop ceremony and provide a beautiful pop against the sunny blue sky. Embrace the French bistro-inspired look and feel with simple centerpieces of bud vases with your favorite in-season blooms.

Perry Lane Hotel

Overlooking the Savannah skyline, including the beautiful First Baptist Church steeple and the Talmadge Memorial Bridge, Perry Lane Hotel offers the sweeping vistas you’re looking for! The rooftop ballroom is enclosed with tall windows allowing natural light to flood your reception, and a rooftop patio lends extra space for you and your guests. The ballroom design is very clean and classic, but the hotel itself is full of rich colors and fun details that make for stunning indoor portraits!

Recommend florals: The ballroom is truly a blank slate, a florist’s dream! My suggestion? Bring in some color and personality with a unique color palette—perhaps some bright oranges, pinks, and purples to echo the beautiful Savannah sunset!

Historical Gems

Harper Fowlkes House

This Greek Revival mansion is located in the heart of historic Savannah just across the street from Orleans square. This venue boasts stunning architectural details, such as the four columns that welcome you at the entrance—talk about wow factor! You can host your ceremony and reception in the venue’s private courtyard garden. One thing to note about this venue is that there are noise ordinances—some couples choose to host their ceremony here, and reception or afterparty elsewhere if loud music is a non-negotiable for you!

Recommend florals: Think garden party! The stunning courtyard is the star of the show at this beautiful venue, so my recommendation is to lean into the garden vibes. A color palette of light pinks, peaches, and cream would gorgeously complement the natural beauty of the space!

The Olde Pink House

It doesn’t get much more iconic and historic than The Olde Pink House—Savannah’s only 18th century mansion! The venue is known for its beautiful pink stucco, the perfect backdrop for your portraits. The grand ballroom boasts beautiful historic details and chandeliers, and seats up to 150 guests. While you could host your ceremony in the ballroom as well, many couples choose a church wedding (or an outdoor ceremony in nearby Reynolds square) followed by a reception in this gorgeous venue. The food is another major reason couples love The Olde Pink House—it’s delicious!

Recommend florals: One great thing about The Olde Pink House ballroom is that it doesn’t need much—it’s already stunning! I’d recommend low centerpieces with classic blooms, along with statement pieces to draw attention to key architectural details like the beautiful window or fireplace!

Industrial Spaces

Savannah Bottle Works

Savannah Bottle Works is a new venue located in the old 1877 Savannah Consolidated Bottle Company building. This venue boasts the original brick walls and gorgeous hardwood floors. Your full-day rental is 16 hours and includes the use of all 3 spaces (so you don’t have to worry about doing a room flip)! This venue can fit up to 200 guests with tables and chairs. It’s a totally blank slate and easy accessible with free public parking nearby.

Recommended florals: When it comes to a blank slate industrial venue like this, I love to go bold! There’s so many opportunities in this space for statement-making florals. Try hanging installations above the dance floor to really wow your guests and elevate the space.

The Georgia State Railroad Museum

The Georgia State Railroad Museum, located in Tricentennial Park, is a beautiful historic venue. When you book this venue, you get access to all of the spaces, indoor and out, providing plenty of flexibility for your event. And with a seated capacity of 300, its perfect for large weddings! The industrial brick and large black doors provide a unique look and feel. This venue is great if you love historic charm, but want something that feels a bit more bold!

Recommended florals: This venue lends itself so well to a dark and moody or art deco aesthetic. Choose deep, rich colors to complement the venue’s stunning brick walls. Perhaps some deep purples and magentas would be just the thing!

Art Deco

Hotel Bardo

Hotel Bardo is a new venue opening in February 2024 located in a historic building directly across from Forsyth Park. Hotel Bardo offers a selection of spaces to host your event, including the beautiful art deco-style ballroom, which seats 200 guests. Stunning chandeliers and regal columns complete this beautiful space. Or, perhaps you prefer the event lawn or courtyard to host your guests. Either way, there’s something for everything at Hotel Bardo—you can’t go wrong!

Recommended florals: An all-white floral moment in the ballroom would be absolutely stunning. Regal elegance would play so well against the rich colors and textures of the space! I absolutely love going for classic elegance in a space like this.
